Brad Barber Announces Departure from H&E Equipment to Launch New Nonprofit Focusing on Empowering Youth.

After nearly three decades of leadership at H&E Equipment Services, former CEO and Board Member Brad Barber is stepping down to embark on a new chapter dedicated to service, mentorship, and community impact. Under his leadership, H&E reached remarkable milestones, culminating in the company’s historic $5 billion sale - an achievement that marks both the end of an era and the beginning of an inspiring new mission.

As part of this next phase, Barber is proud to introduce Me Today You Tomorrow, a nonprofit organization committed to transforming lives by bridging the gap between early adversity and long-term success. Me Today You Tomorrow amplifies the voices of individuals who have overcome significant challenges, offering young people powerful stories of resilience, faith, and personal triumph.

NO MATTER WHERE YOU COME FROM OR WHAT OBSTACLES YOU FACE, you have God-given potential, and with faith, determination, and the right support, you can overcome anything.

Rooted in Christian values, Me Today You Tomorrow connects those facing adversity with inspiring role models and leaders who have navigated their own hardships to achieve professional and personal success. The organization brings together a dynamic network of influential speakers who share real-life experiences of perseverance, demonstrating that success is within reach for all, regardless of their circumstances.

“I have been incredibly blessed in my career,” said Barber, “and I feel called to use my experience to give back. I have a heart for working with young people who are navigating major challenges in their lives. I created Me Today You Tomorrow to help spread the message that no matter where you come from or what obstacles you face, you have God-given potential, and with faith, determination, and the right support, you can overcome anything.”

As Barber embarks on this new journey, he reflects with gratitude on his time at H&E Equipment Services and the many meaningful relationships built along the way. "H&E has been a defining part of my life, and I am profoundly grateful for the opportunities to grow, lead, and serve. Beyond building an incredibly successful company, our leadership team and nearly 3,000 employees have made a lasting impact in the communities we call home.”

Brad remains deeply committed to making a difference, not only through Me Today You Tomorrow but also by supporting numerous organizations, including the Huntsman Mental Health Foundation, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), Set Free Indeed Ministry, and various universities and churches. He continues to reside in Louisiana, where he is dedicated to serving and uplifting the communities he touches.

“OUR MISSION IS TO INSPIRE AND EMPOWER YOUNG PEOPLE BY SHARING STORIES OF RESILIENCE AND FAITH FROM THOSE WHO HAVE OVERCOME SIGNIFICANT CHALLENGES, SHOWING THAT SUCCESS IS WITHIN REACH FOR EVERYONE.”
